Franco ColapintoThe Argentine made an immediate impression during a brief substitute stint with Williams in late 2024, scoring points within his first few races and rebuilding interest in Argentine motorsport along the way. He moved to Alpine for 2025 in what proved a difficult debut full season, and Alpine's decision to keep him for 2026 over Paul Aron was the final piece of the 2026 grid to fall into place.
Colapinto now has the runway of a settled seat, a new engine partnership, and a senior team-mate in Gasly to learn from. After a tricky start, 2026 is his real chance to establish himself as a long-term presence on the F1 grid rather than a one-season story.
