The Frenchman is in his fourth season with Alpine and his ninth in Formula 1. Gasly debuted with Toro Rosso in 2017, was promoted to Red Bull for the first half of 2019 before being demoted back, and has the unusual distinction of having won a Grand Prix — Monza 2020 — and finished on the podium at Interlagos 2023 for two different midfield teams.
Gasly's long-term commitment to Alpine provides exactly the kind of senior driver stability the team has lacked. With Alpine transitioning to customer Mercedes engines for 2026 after Renault's withdrawal as a works engine supplier, his leadership and consistency will be central to navigating a year of significant change at Enstone.
