The Spaniard joins his second season at Williams after a successful but ultimately seat-less departure from Ferrari at the end of 2024. Sainz debuted with Toro Rosso in 2015 and has driven for Renault, McLaren and Ferrari, taking four Grand Prix wins with the Scuderia between 2022 and 2024 — including a memorable victory on his return from appendix surgery at the 2024 Australian Grand Prix.
His move to Williams was a calculated bet on the team's upward trajectory, and 2025 vindicated that choice as he and Albon hauled Williams into regular points contention. With multi-year contracts for both drivers and a fresh-sheet car for 2026, Sainz has every incentive to keep pushing the team up the order.
